Psalm 6

1Yahweh, don’t rebuke me in your anger, neither discipline me in your wrath. 2Yahweh, heal me, for my bones are troubled. Have mercy on me, Yahweh, for I am faint. 3But you, Yahweh—how long? My soul is also in great anguish. 4and save me for your loving kindness’ sake. Return, Yahweh. Deliver my soul, 5* who shall give you thanks? For in death there is no memory of you. 6Every night I flood my bed. I drench my couch with my tears. I am weary with my groaning. 7It grows old because of all my adversaries. My eye wastes away because of grief. 8for Yahweh has heard the voice of my weeping. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, 9Yahweh accepts my prayer. Yahweh has heard my supplication. 10They shall turn back, they shall be disgraced suddenly. May all my enemies be ashamed and dismayed.
