Psalm 107
1Give thanks to Yahweh, * for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever. 2whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary, Let the redeemed by Yahweh say so, 3And gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. 4They found no city to live in. They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way. 5their soul fainted in them. Hungry and thirsty, 6and he delivered them out of their distresses, Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, 7that they might go to a city to live in. he led them also by a straight way, 8for his wonderful deeds to the children of men! Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, 9He fills the hungry soul with good. For he satisfies the longing soul. 10being bound in affliction and iron, Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, 11because they rebelled against the words of God, * and condemned the counsel of the Most High. 12They fell down, and there was no one to help. Therefore he brought down their heart with labor. 13and he saved them out of their distresses. Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, 14and broke away their chains. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, 15for his wonderful deeds to the children of men! Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, 16and cut through bars of iron. For he has broken the gates of brass, 17and because of their iniquities. Fools are afflicted because of their disobedience, 18They draw near to the gates of death. Their soul abhors all kinds of food. 19he saves them out of their distresses. Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, 20and delivers them from their graves. He sends his word, and heals them, 21for his wonderful deeds to the children of men! Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, 22and declare his deeds with singing. Let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, 23who do business in great waters; Those who go down to the sea in ships, 24These see Yahweh’s deeds, and his wonders in the deep. 25which lifts up its waves. For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, 26Their soul melts away because of trouble. They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. 27and are at their wits’ end. They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, 28and he brings them out of their distress. Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, 29so that its waves are still. He makes the storm a calm, 30so he brings them to their desired haven. Then they are glad because it is calm, 31for his wonderful deeds for the children of men! Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, 32and praise him in the seat of the elders. Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, 33water springs into a thirsty ground, He turns rivers into a desert, 34and a fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it. 35and a dry land into water springs. He turns a desert into a pool of water, 36that they may prepare a city to live in, There he makes the hungry live, 37sow fields, plant vineyards, and reap the fruits of increase. 38He doesn’t allow their livestock to decrease. He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly. 39through oppression, trouble, and sorrow. Again, they are diminished and bowed down 40and causes them to wander in a trackless waste. He pours contempt on princes, 41and increases their families like a flock. Yet he lifts the needy out of their affliction, 42All the wicked will shut their mouths. The upright will see it, and be glad. 43They will consider the loving kindnesses of Yahweh. Whoever is wise will pay attention to these things.
