About this text

These pages publish the World English Bible, released into the public domain by Rainbow Missions, Inc. The verse text comes from the database. It is not written into the HTML in advance: each request prints the chapter that was asked for, so search engines receive the words themselves.

Every book and every chapter has its own address. Verse numbers point at a place in that chapter. Search results are for readers and are marked not to be indexed, so the chapter page stays the canonical copy.

Footnotes stored with a verse are printed beside the chapter. A picture stored on the chapter is used before the picture stored on the book.
