Psalm 104
1Bless Yahweh, my soul. Yahweh, my God, you are very great. You are clothed with honor and majesty. 2He stretches out the heavens like a curtain. He covers himself with light as with a garment. 3He makes the clouds his chariot. He walks on the wings of the wind. He lays the beams of his rooms in the waters. 4his servants flames of fire. He makes his messengers * winds; 5that it should not be moved forever. He laid the foundations of the earth, 6The waters stood above the mountains. You covered it with the deep as with a cloak. 7At the voice of your thunder they hurried away. At your rebuke they fled. 8the valleys sank down, to the place which you had assigned to them. The mountains rose, 9that they don’t turn again to cover the earth. You have set a boundary that they may not pass over; 10They run among the mountains. He sends springs into the valleys. 11The wild donkeys quench their thirst. They give drink to every animal of the field. 12They sing among the branches. The birds of the sky nest by them. 13The earth is filled with the fruit of your works. He waters the mountains from his rooms. 14and plants for man to cultivate, that he may produce food out of the earth: He causes the grass to grow for the livestock, 15oil to make his face to shine, and bread that strengthens man’s heart. wine that makes glad the heart of man, 16the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted; Yahweh’s trees are well watered, 17The stork makes its home in the cypress trees. where the birds make their nests. 18The rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers. The high mountains are for the wild goats. 19The sun knows when to set. He appointed the moon for seasons. 20in which all the animals of the forest prowl. You make darkness, and it is night, 21and seek their food from God. The young lions roar after their prey, 22and lay down in their dens. The sun rises, and they steal away, 23to his labor until the evening. Man goes out to his work, 24In wisdom have you made them all. The earth is full of your riches. Yahweh, how many are your works! 25in which are innumerable living things, both small and large animals. There is the sea, great and wide, 26and leviathan, whom you formed to play there. There the ships go, 27that you may give them their food in due season. These all wait for you, 28You open your hand; they are satisfied with good. You give to them; they gather. 29you take away their breath: they die, and return to the dust. You hide your face: they are troubled; 30You renew the face of the ground. You send out your Spirit and they are created. 31Let Yahweh rejoice in his works. Let Yahweh’s glory endure forever. 32He touches the mountains, and they smoke. He looks at the earth, and it trembles. 33I will sing praise to my God while I have any being. I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live. 34I will rejoice in Yahweh. Let your meditation be sweet to him. 35Let the wicked be no more. Bless Yahweh, my soul. Praise Yah! Let sinners be consumed out of the earth.
